Isis is Brazilian and she loves life. Named by her journalist mother, she happily carries the beautiful Egyptian Goddess' name.
At 4 years old, Isis got her first cat and she named him Minão. At that point, a feline love was activated in her heart and after that, Isis has always has cats in her life.
Growing up on the west side of São Paulo city and surrounded by her mom's camera crews and TV studios stages, Isis developed an amazing love for a film set.
From São Paulo to Canada
De São Paulo ao Canadá
Isis was born in a sunny and warm December day in Brasil. She is daughter of Fatima (reporter) and Paulo (mechanical engineer).
She grew up in busy São Paulo city, a calm and green neighbourhood in a lovely family environment. Her sister, parents, cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents, neighbours and friends were always extremely important in Isis's life.
At high school, Isis had a great time. In that time, she was able to choose some extra curricular classes and "Cinema History" was her preferred one!
At university, Isis got her bachelor degree in Communication - Publicity and Marketing. It was in 1996 that Isis got her first film job at a production company and after that... videos and films became her life.
In 2003, Isis moved to Vancouver (Canada). After adapting to Canadian culture and language, she started to work in the BC Film Industry, where she works still.
Sport life
A vida no esporte
As a real Brazilian, Isis loves soccer - 'futebol'. Corinthians is a soccer team from São Paulo city and as Brazilians say, they don't just cheer for the team, they ARE the team. Isis is Corinthiana. As she always says: "I was born Corinthiana"!
Since childhood, sports have been part of Isis life. Not only soccer; swimming, handball, basketball, bodyboard, volleyball, beach tennis, roller skating, biking...
It was in 2010 that a new sport became part of her life: curling! Isis is a curling athlete and curling coach who had the pleasure to represent Brasil on World Curling Championships and Youth Olympic Games.
Isis runs the Brazilian Curling Club in Vancouver organizing events, leagues and curling classes helping the development and grow of the sport. Rats Films is a conjunction of her Film experience and love for sports.
